About

Brooke’s Butterfly Touch: Creative Storytelling Services is a Christ-centered 501c3 Nonprofit communication and community building ministry, founded in October 2014.

Mission Statement

Brooke’s Butterfly Touch: Creative Storytelling Services (BBT) strives to teach creative storytelling skills from a Christian worldview as a way to inspire hope and healing from hardships and eliminate societal prejudices or misconceptions of those with disabilities or who face profound adversity.

Ministry Goals

BBT aims to implement personal storytelling techniques to:

1. Develop better communication methods for one’s experiences and abilities to create new opportunities, personally and professionally

2. Inspire hope and emotional healing from hardships, while promoting a participant’s sense of purpose

3. See all forms of the Creative and Fine Arts become more inclusive, fully integrated, and accessible for people of all ability levels.

4. Eliminate societal prejudices, stigmas, and misconceptions of those that are differently-abled and/or face profound adversity (mental illness, disease, abuse, tragic loss, etc.)

Ministry Vision

BBT seeks to offer training, tools, support and create a forum for anyone wishing to encourage others by illustrating the higher purpose in their struggles and other life experiences, using the various forms of storytelling. This will also serve to highlight an individual’s skills and talents; heightening visibility beyond any physical or mental limitations.

Brooke Brown likes to be thought of as “an ink weaver of life, faith and fiction” because her passion is sharing all types of stories that bring Glory to God and inspire audiences. She’s the author of The Little Butterfly Girl; a blogger, coach, and speaker at Dr. John Trent’s Strong Families ministry; a writer for Autumn Magazine; and a creative project editor. Brooke is also an advocate for people with disabilities through acting in Theatre360, serving as Co-State Coordinator for the Ms. Wheelchair Arizona program, and sharing her life experiences with cerebral palsy at many conferences and community events.

As the marketing and promotions coordinator for S.T.A.R. – Stand Together And Recover Centers, Inc. I have had the opportunity to work with Brooke Brown on a few different occasions. Brooke has facilitated introductory and advanced Sharing Your Recovery Story workshops for the members at S.T.A.R. who are looking for a way to express their successes in recovery, while developing a deeper understanding of the recovery journey. Members who attend the training receive feedback on the story sharing process and leave the workshop empowered and informed on ways to communicate their journey and share hope with others. This workshop could be beneficial to anyone who has experienced hardship or overcome obstacles through their life’s journey and should not be limited to those who live with mental health conditions or struggle with substance abuse. Brooke is a very experienced facilitator and her preparation and dedication to her workshops shows. Her energy and zest for life and helping others share their story is infectious and it is inspiring to watch Brooke help develop our membership. Hearing the members reflect on the workshop with enthusiasm and eager to share their triumphs with others who may be struggling in their recovery is a cycle I would like to encourage. Thank you Brooke for doing your part to help end stigma!

Testimonial for S.T.A.R. Workshops

Brooke was articulate, personable, funny, knowledgeable and absolutely knew her material. She presented in such a relatable way that all of our attendees felt immediately comfortable and engaged in a lively question and answer period. She was a wonderful speaker that would enhance anyone’s understating of diversity inclusion and belonging.
